Hi, Iām Janice, Thank you for visiting my page. My preferred subjects are landscapes, street scenes and a little bit of everything in between. I like to create things that have inspired me along my journey. I draw upon my vast background growing up in many places, but I hold a particular fondness for english countryside and bustling city scapes. I work traditionally with both pencil and acrylics, and I love realism and detail, but I like to have fun with things too sometimes. Thank you for letting me share with you.

ARTIST BIO
Janice was born in England by the southern coast. She has also lived in Germany, Malaysia, Malta, and Australia before permanently settling in Kansas, USA. She has a passion to travel and has seen many beautiful countries and landscapes. She has a deep rooted love for the ocean and beaches, and an equal adoration for English gardens. Janice also loves the sky, especially in Kansas. In contrast, she also loves the hustle and bustle of a busy town and pays close attention to light and reflections. She draws inspiration from the common beauty that is all around us and sometimes can not wait to get up in the morning to start a new picture.
Janice has taken several classes the last few years at the Wichita Center for the Arts which includes sculpture work with Babs Mellor, drawing and painting with Paul Wingo, portriats with Mary Binford Miller and various other workshops with master pastelists. Although Janice has a versatile background to draw from, she found her main passion to be in pastel. As a child she excelled in art and won multiple awards. At the Center for the Arts she recieved the Betty Dickerson Honorary award of merit for her drawing Colors in Rain.
She considers painting joy to create and complete, but it also includes many other emotions depending on the scene. Janice says "When I paint, I feel like I am actually in the picture and that is a wonderful feeling".
